down-to-earth

adj. 

Definiton: humble, unassuming and unpretentious 形容一個人很真, 不做作不浮誇

Example 1:  Paul is very down-to-earth.  No wonder he has many good friends.  保羅做人實在, 難怪他有很多好朋友。

Example 2:  I picked Michelle over Sally because Michelle is more down-to-earth.  我選擇 Michelle 而不選 Sally, 因為 Michelle 比較平易近人。

小賈斯汀有首歌叫做 Down to Earth, 不過感覺很諷刺...... 他的行為跟 down-to-earth 根本是完全相反啊! 愛炫耀 愛逞強 愛擺架子... 一點都不 down-to-earth。

很多美國人喜歡在交友網站上面自我介紹時說自己 down-to-earth, 很好相處。 等見了面才知道完全不是那回事啊... 有些人一直單身真的是個性有問題。

這是在玩文字雙關語: 我不是矮, 我只是比別人更接近地面。 Earth 意思是地球或地面。
