我還以為"包菜尾"是台灣人特有的文化

沒想到美國人也會這樣

Haha...yeah..there are doggie bags in the US...but remember...Americans do not take food from wedding banquet..they only take leftover home if they can't finish what they order in the restaurant.

No so for the Chinese wedding banquet. The Chinese banquet gives A LOT OF FOOD therefore almost all the restaurants would start giving out take-out boxes when they serve the fried rice (the last dish before desert and wedding cake) so that people can start packing.  The guests either fight to take the left-over home or fight to let other people take the left-over home

所以在美國，打包是OK的囉?!

我以前去米國玩時，把吃不完的早餐包上車，黑人司機看到&跟我說:dog's way，這樣是鄙視嗎??

打包文化應該是..到處都會有吧 ^^"

不浪費食物 是一件好事

在美國當然要 "包菜尾" 囉 (小丸子: "包菜尾" 這辭借我用一下,謝謝 ). 那一盤那麼大盤是美國人的份量ㄟ, 夠我們東方人再吃兩餐, 當然要通通給它包回去, 而且這是我們台灣人節儉的美德ㄟ. 一定是要 "包菜尾"的啦!!!

不過我有一個 "包菜尾" 的問題是關於澳洲的, 不知有沒有人能告訴我答案?

我的 Adviser 有一天在跟我聊天時,告訴我說他 spring break 飛去澳洲看我們學校跟澳洲學校的交換學生時得知澳洲現在禁止 "包菜尾" (it is the new law). 因為當地政府發現很多人 "包菜尾" 之後, 都沒直接回家, 還到處去晃, 把"菜尾" 放在密閉的車內悶.而這些被悶過的 "菜尾" 對身體不好, 因此他們就立法禁止"包菜尾" 這是真的嗎? 好好奇喔!!!

In fact, many of my American friends get doggie bags when they can't finish their meal.  I have no idea why that 'black' driver would say something like that.

To Fighting Piggy:

I guess it's probably because the food might become bad after having been  in the car for a long time. And people might get sick and sue the restaurant.  Anyone correct me, please?

To Crazy Teacher,

In Australia we usually say "take away food",  I never heard they said "doggie bag". So mayb e this is the difference between Aussi & Amerian.
