piece of work

Definiton: an unpleasant and difficult person 不討喜的人, 難搞的人

Example 1: Andy's girlfriend is a piece of work.  No one knows why he doesn't break up with her.  安迪的女友很不討喜, 沒人知道為什麼他不和她分手。

Example 2: My new boss is a real piece of work.  He's making everyone's life a living hell.  我的新上司是個超難搞的人, 他讓每個人的生活像地獄般可怕。

Piece of work 字面上的意思是精心雕琢的傑作, 但如果有人跟你說你是 a piece of work, 他不是在讚美你喔!  表示你非常討人厭, 應該好好反省改進。
