spill the tea

Definiton: to gossip; to tell the truth about something juicy or scandalous 講八卦, 把別人的鹹濕內幕或醜聞說出來

Example 1: Girls, it's time to spill the tea. 姊妹們, 嚼舌根的時間到啦!

Example 2: Jenna spilled the tea on her supervisor's affair.  Jenna 把她上司的外遇講了出來。

八卦誰都愛聽, 八卦誰都會講。Spilling tea 是人的天性。

字面上的意思就是把茶灑出來, tea 跟 t 同音, t 指的就是 truth (真相)。跟好友相聚, 怎麼可能不講講他人的閒話呢?

不過有些人超熱愛嚼舌根, 還要很假的說自己其實不愛閒言閒語。誰都有可能成為她的下個受害者。

聽聽八卦無可厚非, 但有點道德, 別到處去張揚。不要人家一問, 就忍不住拼命炫耀自己知道的祕密。

還有一種說法 spill the beans 跟 spill the tea 意思差不多
