delulu 

delulu   adj.

 

Definition: delusional; used to describe someone who holds unrealistic beliefs  形容一個人在妄想, 不切實際

 

Example 1:  You are delulu to think you can get rich by becoming a content creator.  你以為當個內容創作者就能致富, 有夠不切實際。

Example 2:  They are so delulu that they believe they will beat the number one team.  他們居然相信能夠打敗第一名隊伍, 很會妄想。

Delulu 這個說法來自 delusional 這個字, 十多年前起源於 KPop 社群。

 

2022 年的時候突然在美國紅起來, 常常在 TikTok 上面出現。但能懂會用這個字的多是年輕世代。

 

後來衍生出另一種說法: Delulu is the solulu (Delusion is the solution), 意思是說人要先有一些妄想、一些自大, 才有動力前進然後成功。當然並非所有人同意這種說法, 但不可否認還蠻常聽到。
