Defintion: used to acknowledge that someone has made a good point against you in an arguement 被對方說中, 無法反駁對方論點的時候, 可以說這個字

 

Example 1

Erik: Domestic vacations save me money since I don't need to buy plane tickets. 國內渡假替我省錢, 因為我不用買機票。

Tony: Hotels all over Taiwan are super expensive though.  You aren't saving much.  可是台灣各地的旅館超貴, 你根本沒省多少。

Erik: Touché. 說的是啊!

 

Example 2

Tiffany: You should quit drinking.  Alcohol is bad to your health. 妳應該戒酒, 酒精對身體不好。

Agnes: But you smoke all the time. Cigarettes are just as bad.  可是妳老在吸菸, 香菸同樣糟。

Tiffany: Touché. 說的也是!

Touché 這個字一定會讓你想到 touch 這個字, 沒錯, 他們的意思一樣。Touché 是法文的 touched (被觸碰到), 是擊劍的術語, 當你被對方刺到, 對方得分, 你就可以說 touché。

 

雖然是法文, 已經成為美語的一部份, 常常在口說中使用。當對方的論點讓你啞口無言, 說 touché 表示你同意。。
