Don't shit where you eat

Definition: one shouldn't cause troubles in places or situations that one holds as important or necessary 兔子不吃窩邊草;  不在自己身處的地方搞怪作亂，斷了自己的生路。

Example 1:

John: The new assistant is so cute.  I want to ask her out.  新助理好可愛，想約她出去。

Ted: Don't shit where you eat.  別把你的飯碗搞砸。

Example 2:

Rita:  My roommate never cleans.  It's time to teach him a lesson.  我室友都不打掃，該給他一個教訓了。

Nancy:  Don't shit where you eat.  You need him to share the rent.  別把關係鬧僵了，你要靠他分擔房租。
